Math Mystery time! If your students love a good puzzle that engages their attention while reviewing various math skills, this "Whodunnit?!" problem is perfect for your class - virtually or in person!

 

None of my Whodunnit puzzles involve a violent crime. In this mystery:

 

Welcome back to school! You and your friends are very excited for the team building retreat at the end of the week. Each year, your school visits Camp Champions for a week of fun in the woods to build relationships and tap into the likes, interests and potential of the kids! You have packed and re-packed your suitcase, triple checking your list of clothes and supplies. The school has been preparing for months too! Teachers have organized food, games and other equipment to make this trip a great success! But when it is time to leave, none of the buses will start! Oh no! What happened? Were the buses sabotaged? By who? It is your job to find out and save the trip!

 

 

Students must answer 10 word problem to earn clues to eliminate suspects, last known whereabouts and why the the school buses were sabotaged!

 

This puzzle includes word problems. Questions review these important skills:

-addition (with money)

-multiplication (whole numbers and decimals)

-division (whole numbers)

-patterning

-simple fractions

-measurement conversions

-multi-step problems
