If your students love a good puzzle that engages their attention while reviewing various math skills, this "Whodunnit?!" problem is perfect for your class - virtually or in person!

None of my Whodunnit puzzles involve a violent crime. In this mystery:

Today is the annual St. Patrick’s Day parade! Patrick the Leprechaun is supposed to be riding on the biggest float and rumor has it; he is bringing GOLD to share with the townspeople! Your class is very excited! You have volunteered to help with the parade and that means you get to meet Patrick! But when you went to Patrick’s dressing room to tell him it is time to go to the float, he is missing and there is no gold to be seen!

Students must answer 10 word problem questions (whole numbers and decimals) to earn clues to eliminate suspects, last known whereabouts and why Patrick the Leprechaun was kidnapped! Questions focus on:

-multiplication and division

-whole numbers and decimal numbers

-some multi-step questions
